Investment Case Competition · 2025 · 🥉 Third Place

OCBC National Investment Competition

An investment thesis with full financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment that placed third nationally.

OCBC National Investment Competition

Overview

A third-place investment thesis submitted to the OCBC National Investment Competition (ONVic), combining fundamental analysis, financial modeling, and valuation into a single actionable recommendation.

Problem

The competition required building a defensible investment thesis on a live equity, backed by rigorous financial modeling rather than narrative alone.

Solution

We built a full three-statement financial model, ran a multi-method valuation (DCF and comparables), and stress-tested the thesis against key downside risks before finalizing a recommendation.

My Role

Financial modeling & valuation lead. I built the core model and led the risk assessment section.

Competition

ONVic is where I learned to treat a financial model as an argument, not a spreadsheet, every assumption has to be defensible on its own.
